The east coast of Florida is a great place to find sea-beans that ride the Gulf Stream.
From Key West to Central Florida, you've got almost 400 miles of great hunting when conditions are right.
There are loads of beach motels along this stretch, but we prefer camping at the following parks:
Abaco Islands, Bahamas
Only a one hour flight from Palm Beach, the Abacos are easy to get to, but not so easy to get around once you're there.
Don't forget your passport! You can no longer travel to the Bahamas on a driver's license or birth certificate.
The best sea-beaning is miles south of the Marsh Harbour Airport along the east coast of Great Abaco. You'll need to rent a four-wheel drive vehicle to get to the best spots.
Both Guana Cay and Elbow Cay (Hope Town) are accessible by ferry from Marsh Harbour.
Once there, you can rent a golf cart to move about.

The Texas Gulf Coast
In our opinion... this is the best sea-beaning in the continental US.
Drift from South and Central America comes ashore wrapped in tons of Sargassum on the Gulf coast when conditions are right. Sea-beans can be found up to a quarter mile away from the tide after a storm surge.
Our suggestions for places to stay? Away from heavily populated areas where the beaches are raked to remove what we came to poke around in.
